One man. One show. Nicholas Sarkozy, the French President, visited the European Parliament in Strasbourg 10.7.2008. He hold a speech about the programm of the french presidency.
A red carpet was waiting for him. I wanted to go to see him in the visitorsside in the plenary but was not allowed to go in. So I stayed upstairs where I had a good view on the entrance. I had to wait for 35 min when he finally came walking, behind him a dozen of men following him. No woman between. He stopped, looked upstairs, a small applause got his attention. He waiwed and smiled like a rock star. Then it was time for photo shooting, shaking hands with Pöttering, the Chairman of the EU-parliament. Pöttering waiwed also, wonder why. Nobody cares about him.
Sarkozy went upstairs where a woman was shouting: "Nicholas! Nicholas!" with a small child next to her. Sarkozy saw them, turned and went to meet them. They shaked hands. He continued towards the plenary, smiling like Miss Universum.
He surely knows how to act. That small man from Paris.

Well, Pöttering is number 1 in the EU hierarchy so he isn´t that unimportant. People is to impressed with "important" people... Waiting for Sarkozy for 35 minutes, didn´t you have a job?
